About
Christmas starts long before the tree comes home.
Watson Farm Christmas Trees is a small, women-owned, family-operated farm in Standish, Maine. The farm began planting in 2019 and has grown into a place where visitors can find fresh-cut Maine balsams, handmade holiday greenery, and a little more time to enjoy the season.
For the Watson Farm team, Christmas is about more than taking home a tree. It is the walk through the lot, the scent of fresh balsam, the warmth of the fire, and the simple pleasure of making a visit part of the celebration. The farm welcomes both local families and visitors from farther away while staying rooted in its Standish community.
Come for the balsam. Stay for the little things.
Watson Farm currently offers a carefully selected pre-cut lot rather than choose-and-cut trees. Fresh-cut Maine balsams range from approximately 3 to 16 feet, giving visitors room to find a tree that fits their home, their traditions, and the way they celebrate.
Once you have found the right one, the visit does not have to end there. Enjoy complimentary hot cocoa, spend a little time by the warm fire, and take in the seasonal atmosphere around the farm. Dogs are welcome, and free on-site parking makes it easy to bring the whole group. The farm also offers wreaths, kissing balls, and other handmade greenery throughout the season.
The fields are growing. The tradition is already here.
The farm’s own Christmas trees are still maturing, so Watson Farm is not currently open for choose-and-cut. Thousands of young trees are growing for future seasons, while the present-day pre-cut lot gives visitors a way to enjoy a fresh Maine tree now.
The farm’s wreath workshops offer another way to experience that work up close. In a two-hour class, guests use local balsam and supplied materials to make a wreath with step-by-step instruction, then take their finished piece home. Workshops take place in a heated tent, and private group sessions can be arranged by contacting the farm directly.
